Imogen Heap works her magic on Holding Out For A Hero. Her new album is set for late this year. *YAYS*

Nice weekend. Nary a one work-related phone call. *whew*

Another classic written by Jim Steinman.

While Frou Frou's (Imogene Heap and Guy Sigsworth) version is okay, I much prefer the original with Bonnie Tyler -- with the Laura Branigan cover as a close second.

I agree this version is merely okay and doesn't touch the hem of the garment of Tyler's sublime energy and vocals. I liked the original video, too. I was pleased to hear it reimagined, however short it may have fallen. I confess this less-familiar version of the song was merely an excuse to post a song I really liked.

I'm with LD on this one, Phlegmmy! I just watched the original Bonnie Tyler video and got goosebumps within seconds. And the choir...I'm always tempted to let 'er rip on those high notes...I think my dogs would start howling, though! *lol*

Laura Branigan was once my neighbour, and she had an even better speaking voice!

Shame she lost popularity, she was good.

You have the most exquisite taste in music. I've run totally out of friends who have any love at all for Tori Amos. Sad, huh?

I've gotten a little wishy-washy when it comes to music. Sometimes I get a very How Dare You?! attitude when a classic is altered beyond a carbon-copy cover (and sometimes even then if it ain't particularly well done). Other times (such as this) I say, "Out with the old, in with the new!"

Dare I say, I actually prefer Aerosmith over The Beatles on "Come Together." There. I said it.
