Is it too late to name her Gozer the Destructor?

She gets so excited, so wound-up. It's like she's on an espresso drip. She plays hard for as long as she can hold the attention of humans or other dogs, and the minute there's a lapse in attention, she flops down and naps like a little sack of taters. She's asleep in her little bed now, and as soon as I scoop her up and take her outside one last time for the night and then get into bed, she'll be SOOOOO excited to be in bed that it'll be time to start barking and playing and nipping and wallering. I have a light for reading on my nightstand, and Praline gets very lathered up over the giant scary doggie outline thrown on the wall. Sometimes I have to turn off the light to settle her down. Sometimes turning the light off isn't enough.

She's a little clown.

I don't know about the light, but with that shoe fetish, you may want to consider renaming her Imelda.

*laughs*

On a side note, keep an eye on her behavior with lights. It's real easy for some breeds to become fixated on lights and shadows (like laser pointers and such) and become obsessive-compulsive over them to the point where they cannot stop themselves.

That shoe is as big as she is!

Well, THAT shoe is certainly no longer a threat.

(Seriously. You should probably train them to play dead when she gets like this. Don't aggravate her.)

mauser - hee - Imelda - that's brilliant!:P
Thanks for info about the lights and shadows - didn't know that, and I certainly don't want her to be any more neurotic than may be avoided. Perhaps I need to get a different kind of light. That's doable.

christina - 'bout near.

mark - *HYUK* That shoe has been whipped into submission by now, but she clearly wants to make an example of it for all the other shoes in my flock.

That shoe did not stand a chance.

Do either of you get any sleep at night? It certainly is a different story from my big old cat who flops herself down on my right hip every night and then is instantly asleep.

barbara - that shoe had it coming, taunting her so! Yeah, we sleep, but I'm a late-night kind of gal, so we're on a schedule that pretty much works for us. She's a snuggly little fur lump wot sleeps through the night, so it works. :)

dirtcrashr - You pegged her, baby!

It's the shoe's fault! It wrapped itself around your foot so tightly it soaked up your sweat and your delectable smell.

Since she can't eat you, she did the next best thing...she ate something saturated with your smell and taste. Plus it was CHEWY!

It's just a measure of her LURVE fur you!

The blurred tail in the second picture says it all.
