I have a question for anyone who's made the switch to Blogger Beta - will I have to re-set up my blogskin and all that stuff?

Husband says no, especially if you keep the pre-Beta template. Now he's mumbling about making a dummy template and then migrating.... And the rest is all lah-lah-lah to me... Are you moving forward?

meg - oh, ok. Yeah, I suppose I will one of these days - before they force me. I think with the old accounts you'll reach a point where you can't make or receive comments - basically they're letting old Blogger wither on the vine. I dunno.

If all they do is turn off comments, there's always Haloscan. I'm going to stay with the old as long as I can. Because I'm an ornery ol' pharte. That's why!

I swapped my old place that I no longer use to beta. I noticed no change really. It was a smooth move.

I just switched over, Phlegm. You can keep your template and skin, as long as you don't hit the "upgrade your template" button under the customize design section of your template. Supposedly, then, you will have to redo your page to make it look right again. You miss out on some of the new blogger features, but I refuse to do it until I know for sure that I won't lose my skin.

I switched some time ago.

Basically you just tell it to switch to the new blogger beta, and there it goes. You don't have to do anything but wait for it to get done, and, of course, the next time you go on Blogger, you log in with your Google ID instead of your Blogger login.

The new format is really nice, by the way. You can sort by subjects (will be displayed at the bottom of the post) and then people can read all posts in that category if they want. Can be very useful.

Comments are the same as they were before. You just log in with Google, not Blogger.

I had a "plain Jane" tmplate before, and I switched my template when I switched to Beta.
I was able to do links much easier. They actually WORK, now.
I only had a problem switching my site meter over, but that only slowed me down by one day.
Good Luck.

I just shifted over. Took 10 minutes, but you've got your own template, right? And more than one Blog. You and Mushy, Bloggin' all over the place.
