Jeff Gordon's Gay

I came upon this song at Les Jones' blog via Tam at View from the Porch. Actually, Les had a link to a shorter version of the song with a different video, but I 'bout blew a gasket laughing at this one. Funnee. I've watched it, like, 10 times and I don't even like Nascar. Any hick song that wrangles a reference to Spandau Ballet rates high in my book. And funnier still, it's difficult to tell if the singer disdains Jeff Gordon or Earnhardt fans more. Enjoy!

Oh, dear gawd, is that a side splitter!

It doesn't really reach its zenith of humor unless you're a NASCAR agnostic who's spent years working in a rural pawn shop with a staff full of rabid, proselytizing Earnhardt worshippers, though, trust me. ;)

tam - it kinda wrecked me, and I just now went back and watched it agin! I'm frightened to think how rife with meaning this all is for somenone with a C.V. like yours, so I'll just take your word for it. I'm glad I chased those links from your blog over to google over to that other blog - I'm horrified to think I might never have heard this golden chestnut.

Jeff Gordon's Gay.
Does he have a gay? Is he getting his gay on? Or are Nascar Drivers like cowboys, secretly fond of each other (according to Willy Nelson).
This reminds me of graffiti I once saw. Someone wrote: "My mother made me a HOMOSEXUAL!". Smeone else scrawled underneath, " If I give her enough yarn, can she make me one too?"
Well, I guess that makes Jeff Gordon FAAAAAAAAABULOUS! (He'd definitely be somebody's bitch in Stir. I have to stop now. The Warden - he's a winkin' at me...

I just have a passing familiarity with NASCAR, but still found it funny. Do you think the artist intentionally drew a big package on Jeff Gordon or was that my dirty mind?

lightning bug's butt - *nodding* ok.

anonymous Al - *L* He is THE gay, apparently. Don't piss off that Warden!

barbara - I know it is actually a group experience that is more than the sum of its parts. Like I said, I hang at the tailgate parties with the grill and ice chests. Good enough for me. *L* That cartoon was Speed Racer, but I didn't even check the package - will have to go back and watch again. May not be your dirty mind - I can just be a dim bulb sometimes.
