Shoulda gotten some pepper spray and sprayed the chair. My friend's Dachshund/JRT mix has the color, small head and long body of the Dachshund but has the longer legs of a JRT. Has no tail as it was clipped when it was born, but if it did, it would have the spring in it. Cute little thing but has a tendency to tear things apart too. Guess that's the nature of Dachshunds. Pepper spray, baby. Make it as unpalatable for him as possible.
Or, you could just keep it as his permanent chew toy? I'm pretty fortunate in that neither one of my dogs tears anything up -- not sure why, just lucky I guess (they won't even chew on dog toys).
Orange Neck - well,I'm open to suggestion, but apparently I'm just going to have to grow a back bone and stand up to my dogs and make them behave. I'm making little inroads, but this is a learning process moreso for me than for them. I'll keep working on it.
Becky - no - best to not allow them to destroy any furniture - they are not discerning. We'll see what we can do.

Time for the Dog Whisperer, or a big stick!
I have a miniature Dachshund, but so far he just digs in the dirt.

Duct tape is my friend. And a new design style, as far as I'm concerned.
