*JOY*

After 6 months, I finally installed my treo software onto the desktop and now I can download the photos I've been taking these months and share them here.

On December 3 at Mama's Daughters' Diner on Industrial/Irving, I sat through lunch with a friend, captivated by the adorable sight of this grandfather and his grand girl. She prattled merrily away, and he sat listening respectfully, bemused and adoring. The grandparent/grandchild relationship is one of the finest things in life, and this sight just warmed my heart and made me a little misty, to be honest.

In fact, my nose is tingling now. Bless them all.

I just got a new Nokia that uses a data cable to talk to my PC. Need to get that set up, I guess.

And being of the grandfatherly persuasion, there's nothing like it. We were proud of and loved all four of our sons and enjoyed them about 95% of the time but I gotta say, being grandpa is great.

Well, I've always thought the key to grandparent/grandchild relationships, the reason they get along so well is that they have a common enemy: the child of the Grandparent/parent of the grandchild. When I shared this with my Daddy and daughter, they just looked at one another, then they both turned to me and nodded.

Yep, I'd say that the only thing I'll miss about not having kids is not having grandkids. It's the only thing about it that sucks, but I can live with it.

Lovely, lovely photo. At first I thought this was you and your grandfather!
