Sick puppies

All three have kennel cough. Chuy is by far the worst. I took them to the vet before class yesterday and got them on prednisone and antibiotic. Just woke up and Chuy is laying there like a zombie, eyes open. I hope he doesn't have pneumonia. I'm scared. :(

This is a web site for kennel cough. The link is to the home remedy section.

Poor puppies!

How'd they get kennel cough?

I thought that was kind of hard for 'house dogs' to contract unless they played a lot with other infected dogs.

That worry I know all to well.
When we brought our little huns home they had picked up a case of kennel cough. A month solid on Clavamox finally kicked it but waking up in the night listing to a tiny puppy cough will break your heart.

Best of luck to you and the pack.

That's good news!

Kennel cough is a catch-all phrase for various cold/flu viruses that dogs can catch from each other. So much like can a flu vaccination, making sure your dog gets a kennel cough vaccination doesn't guarantee that they won't get if they're around a bunch of other dogs.

I'm so sorry, Phlegmmy! I hope your puppehs feel much better soon, especially Chuy, my little schnitzel-burrito!

Well, crap. NOT viruses, but bacteria. I was wondering why the vet prescribed antibiotics, and I thought maybe for a secondary infection.

I hope he lives. On the other hand, the verb, to lie, is dead. Or else Chuy is. If he is laying somewhere, he is dead. Some strive to save dogs. I am striving to save a verb. Lie doesn't only mean prevarication. It also means LYING DOWN. I write this after your dogs have survived. I love their pictures. But I hope all of you lie down to seelp, and lay your problems at rest.
