Do Muslims belive in hell???

I saw this headline that Weaky-leaks trumpeted that if Bin Laden were to be captured, the result would be the unleashing of hell.

Well, uh, do they believe in hell as in the western sense? I mean, don't they think we already exist in our own depraved infidel hell as it is? [If so, party on!]

And if so, is anyone besides myself sick of the traditions of Christianity being used against the West? I mean, seriously. All those signs in the news from rowdy local protests in Arab nations that are in English? Really? Really??? *yawn*

My husband thinks that the most just punishment for bin Laden would be to have him locked in a cell where Oral Roberts, Billy Graham, and George Beverly Shea are piped in constantly.

Are you bein' sarcastic? I wager there will be threats of violence during demonstrations as well as actual violence or attempted violence if counter-terrorism intel is efficient, by a multitude of splinter groups from both Al-Queda and Muslim Brotherhood.

Yes, the Koran (and other traditions) talk about a lake of fire and eternal hellfire for apostates and unbelievers. You have to cross a bridge like a sword in order to reach paradise, and sinners et al fall off into the flames. Which is a direct steal from Persian traditions, actually. I think the Arabic term for hell is Jehannum, which is related to the Hebrew Gahenna, but my memory is kinda sluggish this AM.
