And if we must make concessions for comfort/heel considerations, then at least we have the new mauve/pink combo in the classic Angels/Michael shoe from Fluevog. I have 4 pair of these shoes, and some are more than 10 years old. I have them in pearly gold, and black/burgundy and brown/hunter green. They's just so cute, is all.

I don't know what happened to my gold Angels, they were a little heavy for me though. This is now a shoe blog. Does Paul Frank make shoes?
Where's your poodle skirt?
Thanks to YOU I had to go swoon over at the Fluevog site.btw.... great two tone treads LOVE LOVE LOVE me some wing tips!!! I just found a pair I wore back in the 80's with the cruel pointy toe: Zodiacs!!I used to love that brand!!!
I love these shoes.
I hate the price.
They're adorable!
How comfortable are they?
A - I have yours, because you were having a manic getting-rid-of-stuff fit, and were going to take them to goodwill. I kept them to have a spare pair.
g bro - these be wingtips, not saddleoxfords, darling. I'm a terrier girl, myself.
schnoobie - I remember Zodiac - they made some really funky shoes - love it! Yeah, I'm a sucker for wingtips and for spectator pumps. Good stuff, all! Monday will be the first day I wear my new 'vogs, the ones I posted about last week. *Bliss*
kelly - in truth, my 4 pair I haven't paid full price on. The first pair was $19 marked down at a store in Austin, second pair was marked down in the Fluevog Seattle store ($69) and the third pair was about $129 also in the Seattle Fluevog store. However, considering that 11 years down the line, I'm still wearing that $19 pair, and will continue to wear all of them the rest of my life, well, I think they're just a good footwear investment. All the better, if I can swing them in the funky colors. I'm so digging this mauve/pink combo. I feel my resolve weakening...
attila the mom - well, I'll tell you, they are incredibly comfortable, but they ARE a little on the heavy side. They are hand-made in Portugal of very thick cowhide, and the natural-rubber sole (which is oil-resistant) is very thick and the insole is also a layer of thick leather. The stitching is ver well-done, and they feel substantial. Like I said, some of mine are 11+ years old, and still going strong.
eef...if those were all black, they'd be dead ringers for the 'corrective' shoes my mom tried to make me wear when I was a kid.
I'm sorry, but those look too much like birth control shoes...because a guy wearing something like that ain't gonna get laid.
After wearing mine a quarter mile, I took them off and slung them over my shoulder to complete that 12 mile hike barefoot. I did better than most of the other Boy Scouts in that I didn't have any blisters that way.
Fashion? Shmashion!
Regards,
Rabbit.
Hm...I'd have to see them on you.
rabbit - eek - Run, Rabbit, Run! *L* I was talking about them for a GIRL, although they do come in guy sizes. I was talking about for me, you know, to wear with jeans and stuff. Besides, Birkenstocks are the real birth-control shoes, IMHO.
j.r. shirley - they look cuter in person, I promise.
dittos on the Birkenstocks, a man in Fluevogs rocks, but not like a man in cop or military gear of course. A
They are soooooooo cute and even look comfy.
You know your shoes girl!
A - yeah, that's true - uniforms are total girl-nip, eh?
lainy - Yeah, they ARE comfy, and I've picked up a thing or two. I'm doing my best to take it from sickness-level up to an art form.
They put me in mind of the Bass oxfords I wore throughout middle school and high school. Yea, I must have a pair of those, but what color?
Those are cute and would actually work with these crazy hills we have here.
leazwell - You'll love them in whatever color combo you get. They rock.
becky - Yeah, I bought them in Seattle AT the fluevog store, and I got one pair of them on the markdown rack, at half price, because there was a little flaw on the leather of on of the shoes. Didn't matter to me, and I loved getting a bargain!
