Afrah

The dinner hour found me in Richardson Wednesday, so I made free to visit one of the area's best middle-eastern eateries, Afrah at the southeast quadrant of Beltline and Greenville.

I usually get kebbeh, but today I chose beef shwarma with tahini with Baba Ghannouj and fattoush. The radioactive looking pink stuff is pickled radish, or turnip, I believe. They are piquant and a lovely foil to the savouries and oils of the rest of the dishes. They also serve little pickle slivers. Though I love all kinds of foods, I rarely eat pickles, but here I'll tuck into them with relish. ;)

I'm really itching to get out of Dallas, but while I'm still here, I need to make the most of the tastes and sights so readily available here. For now I'll try to make the best of it.

Coming Friday: Concert review from Big Bad Voodoo Daddy at House of Blues. Time to get out the Betty Boop shoes. WOOHOO!

Oh good golly, I don't know if it's your camera or the colors on my screen, but that looks absolutely repulsive! LOL

The older I get the more I appreciate barbecue and chicken fried steak. With a little TexMex thrown in occasionally.

Attila The Mom - Thank you for playing! *LOL* Funny - I've been eating this type of food so long that it didn't occur to me that it wouldn't LOOK appealing to someone else. Sorry you were grossed-out by my scruptious dinner. chacun à son goût.

Myron - I'll take chicken fried steak any day of the week, but while I still have access to some impeccable international fare, I'm going to make the most of it.

I'm not as adventurous as you... I stick with more traditional dishes. But it does look good.

Woof- THAT brings back memories... including Camel burgers... Don't EVER try them! And yes, the pickled whatever is good!

That's what I miss MOST about not living in SFO, which is arguably the greatest restaurant town in the USofA, with more ethnic food than you can stick a shake at. Multiple choices in each and every genre, too.

That plate looks GREAT to me!

Afrah food is really delicious. I visited it many times and also like another restaurant in Irving TX. Its name is Mehran Restaurant And Catering. It is a best Pakistani Indian food in Irving tx. You can see their menu.
