Happy 50th birthday, Rik Mayall! You'll always be Flash to me, except for those times when you're the Peoples' Poet or those times when you're Drop Dead Fred.

Blackadder II

The Young Ones

Brrrr! It's so cold, wet and dreary. I love it. Nice reading weather.

Soooo funnee! What a way to start out the day. Thanks!

We've got snow, about 6 " since last night and more on the way for today, so it's a reading day for me as well.

I just have to tell you. Jethro and I went out for our anniversary last night. We were making small talk and I told him the story about the dead guy on your phone. I have not seen or heard him laugh like that in months. Years even.

He was hilarious as (P)Rick on the young ones. He was really believable as the snotty anarchist.

Interesting that he is the son of John Mayall but not "the" John Mayall.
It's also interesting to me that Britich two-man comedy groups thrive: Fry & Laurie, Matt Lucas and David Walliams (the guys from Little Britain), Mitchell and Webb. Has two-man comedy worked here since Rowan & Martin? (Martin & Lewis? Lewis & Clark?)

lainy - I wish I could get snowed in for a few days. It'd be lovely. Glad you enjoyed the clips -they ALWAYS make me giggle.

zelda - I'm so glad you enjoyed that - it was silly that in my inattention I created such a preposterous situation

thud - Indeedy. I love the stuffing out of him/it.

g bro - Well, the guys from Mr. Show have been a minor success, and they are great to watch. Maybe Americans are just not team players(I call that a compliment, generally).

The Young Ones! Man I remember watching those shows on BBC2 late at night during my high school years. That stuff is classic!
