Okay. I know I'm coming really late to the party on this one, but Pan's Labyrinth is superb. It's not for children and there's some extremely graphic violence, but it's a fantastic movie. I'm giving it 4 loogies up.

Damn! Has it already been a year?
We never made it into the theater to see it, but we really should have picked it up on DVD by now.
Thanks for the reminder, Phlegm.

Stunning film from a great director.

You are in very good company Phlegmmy, Doctor Kermode made this his top film of 2006, in this clip he interviews del Toro.

dba dude - well you've made me a fan of Kermode, and I'm flattered to be in such good company. Can't wait until I have time to listen to that clip (hopefully this evening)

I've heard really great things about it and I even have the dvd, but the kids are always around so I've never been able to watch it. One day.

Can't argue with you - that is one fantastic film. Very dark.

I saw it and had a difficult time with it, I think because I wasn't expecting it to be so gory and depressing. I was really expecting an adult-like happy fairy tale. I probably need to see it again to see if I like it better (the three people I went with loved it).
