Gloriously brooding skies all day gave way in the late afternoon to an outbreak of violent storms: my favorite weather. Nice. Great reading weather. I always sleep well when it's like this. I hope there's more of this good stuff on the way.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? ... Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. ...As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

I kinda imagined Dallas to be sunny all the time... I know it's not true, but...

I need to set up a roofed area on the porch for sitting out in thunderstorms while staying dry. It's just the awesomest thing; about the only time I'll sit out there without a book is to watch one roll in across the lake.

That is my favorite type of weather too. Nice and overcast and gray. Its like putting a pair of shades on the sky. Nothing bothers me quite like bright sunshine. And its a great photo too. And I like the quote. Huh...I guess I like the whole dang post! Kudos!

That's really cool. Very perceptive. It's tempting to believe that self image is everything. What we're raised to believe about our possibilities and limitations - we create our own reality, or it's set up for us and we buy into it. Then you heve the folks who are driven by depression to do brilliant things. It's a quandery.

Bet you're glad you weren't in Flower Mound last night, huh? They had a lil ol tornado.

meg - That's funny. We actually get some crazy weather here, and we do enjoy both weeks we get of winter every year.

tam - that sounds glorious, actually - yes, you must do that!

darkmind - Thanks! I don't know why, I just feel more energetic and content when the weather is wild - it's quite bracing.

fathairybastard - well, you hit the nail on the head - I think everyone has their own motivation in life.

myron - Yuppers, for all the violent weather I love, I'm more than happy for tornados not to dampen my bathmat

mausergirl - Thanks! I was proud of my little cell phone because I really wanted to capture that little odd pair of clouds

I love gray days, and stormy weather, too. Washington State was great- except for days spent out "in the field" in bad weather, of course!

Ha, ha, hee hee, both weeks. That's like summer in Minnesota.

I love stormy weather, too, and that's why we can't quite move out of this house even though it has all the windows facing the wrong way - the west, the industrial part of town - instead of north - the beach.

But our weather comes most often from the west, and I watch the rain coming.... Lovely stuff.
