...isn't air travel so incredibly amazing? We spend a lot of time talking about the tediousness of the TSA and all the dehumanizing baloney at the airports, but golly, it's just so incredible that you can get on a plane and enjoy drinks and movies and lots of audio channels and emerge some hours later on pretty much any spot on the planet. And for all the jerks (doing their job or not) who make the process more unpleasant, there are a lot of nice, decent folks who do work in the industry who enjoy their jobs and want to be a help to people.
I love the wrap-up from this flight attendant, and if I ever fly again, maybe Batman and Robin will be piloting the plane then, too. :)

Flying is still damn near magic, as far as I'm concerned. Oh, I understand Bernoulli principle and how jets work and all that stuff, but it's still magic.
It's just the associated foofara that I hate.
I had a very late flight home from Philly several years ago - delayed a couple hours and the crew was JUST inside the max-time window. We finally pushed off sometime around 1:30am. The attendant kind of looked at a plane full of sleepy business travellers and picked up her handset: "You all look tired, we'll assume you can figure out a seatbelt and oxygen mask, sleep well."
That's one of the reasons I like Southwest - the flight attendants are generally some of the best I've encountered post-9/11. They generally try to keep the humor up.
Obvious it was Southwest. hey try to have fun still even post 9/11. They were even more fun before.
Safety briefing for the flight from Dallas to Lubbock, "In case of a water landing......between here and Lubbock, Stand Up!"
That's hilarious! I love it when flight staff have senses of humor.
I've flown Southwest, and I truly think you have to have an excellent sense of humor to work for them!
Yeh that's SFO all right - and the Bay approach.
God I miss flying on Pan-Am, they were special and some kind of wonderful. It really was a bit like Tikiyaki Airways...
Yep, Woodside approach to SFO... Flown that one many a time... If Southwest wasn't such a cattle car, it would be alright.
