This wee little darling is the new puppeh over at Chez Tole. He was a rescue and a bit sicky at first, but he seems to feel better all the time, and is a whole 'nother critter from the one he was just a week ago. He has a jaunty gait and a velvety coat and promises to be a fun-loving, light-hearted little dog, which is always a blessing in any household, in my opinion. He chases the kids, and is even scratching at the door already when it's time to go out. [I hope he'll teach that trick to my leetle darlings.] I'm looking forward to him being big enough to hang with my dogs. I'll be shocked if he makes 10 pounds, but I still think he'll be in the league with the phlegmpups. You can see the wheels turning behind his eyes, and he's already learning how to work his mojo. Cutie-pie!!!

A friend hung a jingle bell on a ribbon on the inside doorknob, and taught their little dog to ring the bell to go out. Really cute - he rings, looks to see if anyone is coming, then rings again if they aren't fast enough.
that is adorable, diane. @ think chuy might learn to use the bell, but praline would eat it. then again, they tend to quickly dispatch anything which makes noise. very limited lifespan on squeak toys around here. mebbe five minutes before they get de-squeaked. hee.
Definitely a cute baby puppy.
Rescue seems so out of place when it comes to tiny puppies. I can't fathom the mind of someone that could abuse one and not kill themselves to rid society of their evilness.
I found a squeaker from a de-squeaked toy a few months ago. I really thought it was a piece of packaging plastic, until I squeezed it and brought the entire room to immediate attention. Dogs are serious about squeakology. I thought is was best to quietly leave the room and throw the offending device away.
What a cutie! I wish I had a whole herd of puppies.
We rescued a chihuahua puppy from the downstairs neighbors...about 6 mos. old and the neighbors just left the dog out on the patio in all weather. I got tired of seeing her shiver all the time, asked if we could have her. I was told they didn't want her anyways. No shots, nothing. But she and the older (3 yr old) chihuahua are fast friends and the little one is adjusting well. Kind of obvious she was beaten at least a few times, though.
