Would you hire me? I'd hire me...

Tuesday morning I had a job interview. Having applied for, oh, say about 60 or 70 jobs in the last several months, I was thinking it would be fun to mix it up in interviews by paraphrasing quotes from movie weirdos. I could go on, but the exertions of the day just too too much out of me. I'm hopeful I'll get to spend my first night at my new place on Wednesday night, but it's more likely it'll be Thursday.

*************

Ya know in Planet of the Apes when Taylor and the other astronauts arrive at the edge of Monkey Mondo and you see the stretched hides of (?) chimps or orangutans(can't remember which) -- were those meant to be scarecrows, or were they the hides of dead outlaws or what? I never really got the purpose of that. Perhaps it would have been more clear if there'd been a sign that read "hitchikers may be escaped convicts."

See? Tired.

Will try to post more later today.

Thought you already had a job. Isn't that why you quit & moved?
Good luck.

Good luck on the job!

I always interviewing stressful. But then, it's the "you like me. No, you really, really, like me, and want to hire me. Uh, wait, do I like you?" mindgames that make life interesting.

They were 'scarecrows' meant to frighten off the primitive humans.

Hope you get settled in soon.

It's a tough time to be looking for work, but keep your chin up. The right job will come along, I'm sure - just hope its sooner rather than later. And yes, I'd hire you! ...but I'm not an employer, sorry:(

Anonymous - good point-- I really do need to clarify this. I was offered a job as a customer service rep with a big company, but they do their hiring exclusively through a temp agency. After some months of rigorous training, those who pass muster will be offered permanent employment. Those who never get up to speed will not be a permanent liability to the company, as the corp can simply choose not to extend offer of permanent employment to people who are questionable. I am scheduled to begin that job on Monday, but I've been keeping my eyes peeled for something with good benefits on a more permanent basis from the gitgo. Tuesday I had an interview for just such a job, and things went well and I'm slated for another interview. THanks for the well wishes, though. I'm not trying to be greedy, but simply to put myself in the best place possible.

On A Wing - Thanks so much! Yeah, interviewing IS very stressful. I'm trying to approach it from the perspective that it's uncomfortable for the interviewers as well, and that if I can put them at ease, then they will see how adaptible and handy I can be. :)

Salamander - AH! Makes perfect sense! THanks. I'm hoping to get moved into the house in the next day or so. :)

Kevin - Well, I'm lucky that I have this other temporary job. I'm going to work hard and do my best wherever I happen to end up.

Old NFO - THanks so much! Fingers crossed.
