I was not able to move into the house I'd rented as planned on Saturday - the previous tenants never vacated. Fortunately, some lovely friends have generously invited me and the pups to help myself to their sofa. I hope my snoring doesn't scare the kids.
I'm wiped out. I don't know exactly how all this is going to pan out, but I'm so happy to be here, and I know it will all be okay. :) The complexion of this situation is tempered entirely by the fact that some incredibly nice people are so generous and kind. :)
Life is sweet. Just a little unpredictable.

I felt a bit punched in the gut just reading this.
My experience has been that things evolve in unexpected and sometimes unthought of wonderful ways and trust that will be the case here. In the midst of disappointment and uncertainty, it is good to have good friends/nice people.
Onward.
Well, at least you are in good hands. It will all work out.
Is an intarweb full of Phlegm-fans going to have to descend on these squatters and light a fire under 'em?
Don't they know who they're dealing with?
Oh, noes!!! Will you still be able to rent the cute little house come May 1st, or will those people have to be evicted forcefully who-knows-when? Glad you have a temporary pad for yourself and the puppehs anyway. And congrats on finally getting out of DFW! :) Here's to a happy new life for you (insert raised bottle of stout here), cheers!
Oh dear, not a stellar start. I do hope that all gets sorted out soon, and you and the pups get established in your new digs.
Katie and I are holding a good thought for you here.
I am glad you made it!
I hope you find the perfect (empty) place soon.
The decision to leave a place you have been for so long seems much harder than finding a new home doesn't it?
Kaie and I keeping you in mind!
Ouch. Not good about the previous tenants. I hope things all work out, smoothly and QUICKLY.
Remember that this, too, shall pass. There is a reason that this has happened at this time. We just don't know what the reason is, yet.
Oh that just sucks! Here's hoping things get sorted out QUICKLY!
Glad you landed on your feet - no matter what else goes on, you can rest easy in the depth of friendship you have up there, and know it'll only getter better!
Good luck on housing, and hope we get to cross paths sometime in the uncertain future!
Hang in there, kiddo. You've encountered a temporary setback, and I'm sure you'll come out just fine.
If you need a set of brass knuckles, just let me know.
Well, damn.
Hope things work out even better than planned.
