I have to admit it's not all about my hair today.

Here's some sobering and important reading.

I've long recognized that Europe is our canary in the coalmine.
That canary is dead.

I'm sorta glad I don't live in Berlin anymore.
I went to school with plenty of Turkish kids, but they were mostly Westernized.
We still had some girls who wore headscarves, etc.
I've heard that it is immeasurably worse now, though.

The Eurobeast, slouching off to rest in the warm bed of totalitarianism.
Vienna was already Palestinian-Socialist in the late 70's/early 80's - can only have gotten worse.

Not good. At all. I really don't like what I'm seeing in Europe these days. What scares me the most is that we may be looking at the future of our own country 50 years or so down the road. I fervently hope I'm wrong.

That story was really hard to follow, apparently assuming that the readers knows the basic events and will understand the particular interpretation of this writer. What actually happened?

Amazing, but not too surprising. Thanks for the heads-up.

I'm told that about 200,000 Brits emigrate to the US every year. If they are anything like Denise and her family (brother and sister-in-law), it's mostly conservatives, disgusted with the way their country is evolving. I guess that's one way to deal with what seems like an inexorable drift to a future none of them want to see.

christina - Germany was such a gateway even before reunification, and I've heard in recent years of great conflict. Creepy.

dirtcrashr - The irony of THEM (Europe) wanting to lord it over us even as they give their society away to Islamo extremists is staggering.

kevin - that's what I meant by the canary in the coalmine. Alarming, to say the least.

G bro - I agree it was difficult to follow. I think it must have been translated from French, Flemish or Walloon, as it was in Brussels wot happened. As I understand it, on Sept 11, an anti-Islam demonstration was organized and announced, and then the Muslims showed up and quashed the demonstration with the police who were only too happy to assist - the ultimate result being the public execution of free speech. Big irony points on the story with all those photos of the guy being silenced with the Brussels UN building in the background.

fhb - Nope, sadly, not surprising at all. Yeah, and can you blame the Brits for coming here? Less (for the moment) confiscatory taxes, better career prospects with benefits that include REAL healthcare instead of their socialized medicine, and the opportunity to have a gun in the home for personal protection, rather than being lumped in with the criminals for being prepared. It's a no-brainer. Personally, I love Brits, and I'm ok with opening our arms to them.
