Though it may look like goulash, this is going to end up being chili. Cool front came through, and there's the most lovely breeze blowing. I was torn between making beans or chili, but chili won the draw. I'll make the beans tomorrow.
I am an Arkie, so I reserve the right to throw in beans, but as a naturalized Texan, I eschew beans in the chili. That said, I've had some very good chili with beans in. Just not mine.
A word on firepower: the Mexican beans used for frijoles are delicious, but I'd recommend against eating them before car or air travel, or being locked in any small, closed spaces in which other persons should be considered.

I had to laugh. As a native Texan, I never like toput beans in my chili. But, my husband is disappointed if they aren't there. So, most of the time, I put them in anyway. Sigh, the things we do for love.
Looks tasty!
Either way is fine with me. I usually put them to make a bigger pot so I can eat it over two or three days. Probably better the next day. The one cook off I entered (I won) I went without since Texans were judging. Yours looks very good
