Stuff we love: Mutt Muffs

Do you ever wish your puppy were more at home on the range?

Well, now they can be with Mutt Muffs!

Here's Jennifer's comely little dog, Heidi, who is a chihuahua/dog-next-door mix. She looks quite the adventuress in her Mutt Muffs and she's certainly ready for all kinds of noisy action. Ms. Jennifer looks hawt in her red Docs, too, btw. ;)

Awe! That's my Heidi girl. She loves camping.
Yeah, not sure how you'd do mutt muffs on that guy, Bob.

BobG - poor Douglas - I think he'd be mighty uncomfortable with anything on his magificent leathers!

Jennifer-- whoopsie! my bad! I have corrected my error. Boy, girl, she's a grand wee beastie, and I could fall in love with that sweet little face!

We did fall in love with that face. All those wrinkles are just adorable.
And no worries.

You roll up the ears and tuck 'em under the mutt muff, that's how you deal with 'em. Or,alternately, you fold 'em down flat to the head and put the earmuffs on top.

Mutt Muffs are pretty popular among pilots taking their dogs with 'em a lot - having seen the hearing loss that comes from humans not wearing ear protection, they don't want that to happen to their dogs.

Of course, the dog's opinions vary. I know an absolutely sweethearted stubborn beagle who hated them - until they were put back on in the air. Now she gets really excited when they come out, and wears 'em until she hears the power come back for landing. They get shaken right off and she's up on the seat, looking eagerly out the door.
