Baffling, yet compelling, yeah, and more than a little cringe-inducing. I heard nasty rumours that Barbarella was going to be remade. Insanity. I mean, that would be like remaking Rocky Horror, right? The Velveeta quotient is part of what made it such a toothsome morsel. Anyway.
And all this so hot on the heels of The Beverly Hillbillies.

It's ALL an epic fail... Typical Hollyweird... They couldn't think of anything decent to do so....
I like the idea. Have the same actors that are still alive. Place cuts of Hamoi Jane through the movie as she cavorts with the North Vietnamese. At the end, have a really good old, old Popeye cartoon.
They're re-making the Green Hornet too, and for TV, Hawaii 5-0. I read somewhere that the movie pipeline in Tinselgrad is loaded with 70% re-makes. They have lost their mojo.
Maybe they really do need Polanski back...
