The open house went well on Sunday. I'll do another with my mentor next week, and then I suppose I'll be jumping in with both feet. It's cool, but it's sort of hard to believe.

So, the whole Sopranos thingie is over for HBO. I never really got into it - it was all just too neanderthal. Now, Deadwood? I was all over that one. Wish they hadn't ended that so soon.

I needed to get to Industrial blvd Sunday, so I took Wycliff from the tollroad to Harry Hines and cut across the parking lot of Market Hall. I forgot this was the weekend of the gun show - crap. Was going to try to catch that one. Anyway, I noted with irony that they had the elevated Police watch-box to provide surveillance for the parking lot. I say irony, because I figure the people that go to gun shows are among the least likely to be trifled with in any parking lot, ever. Oh, if only the gangbangers WOULD bring it to a gun show parking lot-- I have a feeling we'd be rid a bunch of loser thugs AND some illegals all in one swell foop.

You may say I'm a dreamer...

To a European this just sounds bizzare. Unless you're Swiss. They think Americans don't arm themselves sufficiently.

Estate agencey stuff's getting exciting.

Sounds like the Swiss have the right ideer, Tickers. Maybe that's the key to their neutrality, hmm?

Yup, lots of people selling and lots of people buying.

Truthfully, my wife was afraid I was going to cry when Tony got popped Sunday night, but alas it didn't happen.

Most folks were disappointed and angry and I heard the server to HBO crashed with all the hate mail!

However, if you look back over the whole ordeal...Tony's life was always portrayed as "just another day in the life" of ordinary folks gettin' by the best they know how. So, life goes on even for a mob boss.

Perspective on scum glorified in media entertainment must be everything. My mother, and quite possibly myself (had I come home from school 'at the wrong time') would have been murdered by a violin case-toting Guido in our living room had a relative's testimony gone against their liking. Accordingly, I tend to think of them as curses upon decent humanity; simply remorseless parasites who should be composted without fanfare. If you had known my mother, you would likely agree with my revulsion.

mushy - well, I'm so glad your wife was disappointed and not you. *tee hee* Good point about the day-in-the-life aspect - we're all such drama queens, Americans.

lin - Agreed - dirtbags without merit. I think the fac that most people grapple with their consciences is why they are fascinated with these people who manage to be amoral and yet still adhere to a perverse code. I do not strive to understand it.
