Here's the doglet about 2 months ago. You'll notice the half-mast eyes and tucked tail, indicating the fugue state she enters when she is in the sunshine after being cooped up half a day in the opulent house she has been so generously provided, all the while soaking in the exorbitant air conditioning. She actually stands in the sun, shivering for some reason. Sometimes I think she has doggie Parkinsons- she IS 14 1/2, after all. I keep looking for signs of Katharine Hepburn-ness, but it seems more a case of fleeting moments of quirky behaviour interspersed between protracted bouts of extreme napping that could rival that of any 30 pound house cat. Even for a crotchety old gal, she's still a helluva bitch.

I'm confused it this cute we thing the Jack Russel Terrorist? It looks too big.

My dog Snoopy does the same thing. He seems to shiver all the time, even when it's 100 degrees outside. I think it's a tic or something.

He's 12, so he's an old guy himself.

I wouldn't worry about her channeling the spirit of Katherine Hepburn unless she takes to wearing trousers and a topknot.

ro - I dunno- I haven't gotten enough sleep in yonks, and when I wrote that early this morning, I was cross-eyed with fatigue. I don't know what came over me.
Thanks - I think she's cute, but I do know I am biased. I'll never understand how anyone could not find her adorable, but there you have it.

tickersoid - She's tall - a little long-legged - for a JRT, but she's spot-on in the weight - she's about 15 pounds. You've got to see her bounce to really appreciate her.

phoenix - maybe it is just an elderly thing. Still, I hope she stays around for a long time. She's my personal pet.

mj - trousers and topknot - well, she HAS gotten the merest dusting of freckles of late, and she's been hanging with a married redhead named Spencer - should I worry?

It's so tough watching your pets age, but she looks like she can have her feisty moments still.

yeah, barbara - the subject of the aging of my beloved doggie is a very sore spot. Yeah, she still has her golden moments of being a pistol, but the days of spontaneously jumping 5' in the air seem past us, alas. But in her still lurks the spirit of a titan.

So gam glam is todays' topic. I'm still reeling over Stacy Keebler's gifts she revealed on "Dancing With The Stars". Of course they are anachronist to the aesthetic you are pointing out from that 40's-50's more robust shape.
M.M. hated her legs. She thought of them as being too short and thick, even when the public trumpeted her as the personification of sexy perfection. -Al

p.s. I reread my Xmas card photo response. A little creepy unless you realize that I was suggesting alternative greetings for the inside of the card....(I'm a happily married and very "fidel" man, well as happy as one can be when married. ) I'll try not to write in short hand next time.

uh oh, Al, I'm sure about an awful lot of things! *L*

gam glam - gotta love it.I didn't see Stacy Keebler's gifts, but women who really dance a lot tend to have nice-looking legs, so long as they are limned with a goodly dose of fluff. Who wants stringy, manly legs. Frankly, Madonna looked a whole lot better in the Lucky Star period than in the Blond Ambition - I've said it before - she looks like the dry, stringy piece of chicken that ends up being the last one left in the bucket.
Oh, and I understood that you were offering alternate text for the Christmas card - I thought it was clever, not creepy. :o)

She's been hanging with a married redhead named Spencer? I think it should be fine as long as he's not a heavy drinker.
