Ah, country living. *inhale deeply*

My goodness.

Driving home from seeing a moowie (Wolverine. See it!) in nearby city Saturday night, LouLou pulled into town behind a white Corolla. Saw them swerve ahead too late to miss the black plastic garbage sack --oddly weighted, that-- and it rolled along their undercarriage in a clunky fashion and too late for LouLou to miss also straddling the black sack when OMG! it has a white stripe. That's not a black plastic bag.

I fear LouLou will be mighty skunky for the next little bit or so. Must find a carwash with undercarriage action.

It's funny, sort of ... off in the distance, a faint whiff of skunk just says "country" to me, and isn't particularly unpleasant.

Up close and personal, however, ohdearjebussaveme!!!!

Or just try stompin' on one of them stinky critters right quick with a pair of these on your feet, before it has a chance to spray you. ;) (You sure wouldn't be able to make a quick getaway in them.)

If you know which area was affected, try washing with 1 part water, 1 part lemon juice, or use Dawn dish detergent, or another grease cutter.

Also try baking soda and water. It is supposed to absorb the odor and remove the offending proteins. Use any of these washes quickly, the sooner the better.
