Hey from the road, kids! It started off windier than a bag of buttholes and we drove through a wild storm last night in the panhandle just south of Amarillo. Pulled off the road 4 times in protracted bouts of hail, some of them as big as quarters. Incredibly, my chariot Lulu sustained nary a pock or dimple in the barrage. Spent the night in Childress, and back home to Dallas late today. Not before I stop at a supreme collection of a junk store in Quanah on the way. They had a big chicken made of Mexian oil barrels I'm lusting after. They may have to strap it to the roof of Lulu, but dammit - it's coming home with me if it harelips the world!

Have a great day, and I'll post at length tonight or tomorrow morning.

Nice to see that you made it out of Childress okay. You do know that 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' was inspired by events that happened there.

Wow - I didn't know that. Well, we spent the night there with no ill effects, I'm happy to report. It's sorta the biggest blip on the map between Amarillo and Wichita Falls. Good stuff!

it's funny that Tony Christie has had a career revival over here with 'Show me the way to Amarillo'

I've never been a good reader, partially dyslexic. That's why the paragraphs are important to me otherwise I can't follow. You also use a lot of Americanisms. It can be a little frustrating to follow.
Sorry, don't mean to moan.

My daughter tells me that Google earth picture of our home was taken when I had 6 three wheeled cars in the back yard. Kinda bizaar.

nongirlfriend - will post a chicken pic soon. You're obsessed!

tickersoid - Amarillo is such a romantic idea, in a way.

I'll try to keep up the paragraph thing. Sorry for the Americanisms - I know I pepper my writing with local color, but I hope it amuses, even if it baffles, occasionally. I'm thinking "windier than a bag of buttholes" transcends culture?

OMG - 6 3 wheeled cars? Your satellite photo must have looked like a convention. Then again, you do share my passion for junk collecting.

My dad has an enormous 1962 Lincoln that showed up in a satellite photo of the neighborhood. It's a land-yacht.

Oh, I liked windier than a bag of butholes.

See, there's no pleasing me.

so, the windier than a bag of buttholes is one Americanism you can stand? Or a Southern american thing, at any rate? Glad you're coming with me on this one, tickers. You're one of the cleverest people I've read around this place.
