On St. Patrick's Day:
I love this bit from John Leguizamo's Freak, particularly when he channels Jimmy Cagney.

Lin's fence
In my browser, this looks kind of sawed-off on the right side, but you can see the whole panorama if you click on the photo.
Beautiful New Mexico
South of Madrid.

Sunday, Puppy Sunday: ice, ice, babies
Poor pups are so cold with these recent cold snaps. I'm in my recliner under blankets and all three pups while I study. Thank goodness I have my laptop, but I need a hospital bed style tray table so I can work over them and have all my books/ materials handy. This has been a pleasant, quiet time, but I admit I am tired of the confinement. Here's a picture of Mochi and Chuy from this morning, and then one of everyone on top of me.

There is nothing in the world like a sister.
There is no one in the world with a frame of reference that will mesh with your own quite like that of a sibling. You have a shared history and perspective, and often you agree on matters of import great and small. And, good or bad and right or wrong, no one knows you quite like a sibling, either. They know your flaws and your features, and if you are very lucky, they'll be honest with you about both.
Today I called my sister during a moment of doubt, and she pulled me through to a moment of greater self- assurance. This has turned into a wonderful day.
Thank you, Amy. I love you more than I can say. I'd love you if you were horrible, too, but maybe slightly less. Thank you for your encouragin' words. :)
