I really think it would have been better if whoever put it together had used Rodney Crowell's "Telephone Road". If you grew up around Houston, or even live here I guess, you can really appreciate that song.
myron - I don't know that song - will try to find it - love the video, actually, for all its nutty goodness
christina - it's just rainwater, and I suppose it's muddy, too. True, this can't just be a Texas thing
barbara - it IS superlative, isn't it?
pdb - Nope, it wouldn't shock me what people come up with. Actually, I admire this - it's hilarious. It just seems a little dangerous, is all
jr - Don't mind me and my crappy comments - I actually love the video and find it highly amusing that someone did this and remembered to document the experiment. Walk with pride, man!
COOL! My sister wrote me recently about doing the same thing ... unintentionally though and on ice. Since she's pushing 70, it's a good thing she stopped before the culvert.

ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is IN those ditches?
ReplyDeleteOr don't I really want to know...?
That totally looks like something my brothers would have done back in the day, and they're not from Texas.
We used to play in the ditches a lot when we were kids, but nothing quite that imaginative. I am in awe.
ReplyDeleteI don't suppose it would be any shock to learn that we did much similar things with ditches in Canada, except we used sleds and snowmobiles?
ReplyDeleteAfter watching that, I am almost embarrassed to mention that we used to water ski in canals behind a truck.
ReplyDeleteI guess it is a good thing we didn't have digital video back then.
