UK graphic artist David Airey had his website hi-jacked via a backdoor installed in his email account courtesy of a security flaw in .gmail. He thought at first he'd perhaps let his domain expire, but not so. I was amazed how easily the hacker got the domain unlocked so they could reset everything (within minutes). This also happened on the very day the site owner went to Asia for a month-- an absence he'd mentioned on his site. It's amazing what someone bent on mischief can get up to.

  1. It really pisses me off when I hear about this stuff. Hacking into and destroying websites is almost as bad as torching their personal property.

  6. That truly sucks. To me that is worse than someone breaking into your house or stealing your car.

Looks like he got his domain back thanks to some folks who know the CEO of Godaddy. Don't know if he'll ever be able to get any legal relief since it seems the cracker is in Iran. At least he got his domain back.
