Wow...to say the least the plane was held over for extra cleaning!
I've seen B-52's land like that, but they can land sideways and keep their wheels straight down the runway. Commercial planes can't do that, so I'm sure the pilot was on about a 8 pucker factor!
My loveliest flight was proably a take-off from Tokyo headed east. I was in the nose of the plane, and the oscillations kept my tray about a foot off the table. And my stomach about an inch from my throat. Attendants acting like nothing was going on. Yeeeesssshhhh!
mushy - yeah, 'specially since it all went sideways at about the last possible second. Still, it was a nice recovery. Cool heads prevailed.

g bro - yeah, that WAS gnarly. Wow. Then again, you've put in more flying time than the average bear, I think. You must have been in a 747 then? Sheesh. I think I couldn't have coped with that - might have seen oscillating puke dancing before my eyes!
kevin - *L* I hate flying too, but I'm fascinated by planes. I'd prefer to watch from a distance. Actually, one flight landing in Brussels in a 757 once nearly did me in - the only time I've felt pukey on a plane was once we touched the ground and bounced and pitched and rolled - I kept waiting for a wing tip to touch the ground and snap off.
We flew into HK once a long time ago, since the runway sticks out into the water and passengers can't see straight-ahead or down very well either (unless you have a window seat) it's seems like you're gonna land on water - or on take-off, that you've run out of land already. Never got airsick either except once going from London to Holland. It must be the Channel weather.
There wasn't a dry seat on that plane.

Thanks. I hate flying as it is. Just another reason not to get into one of those damn things.
